Who Kevin Foxcroft is
Kevin Foxcroft is a senior engineering technician based in the Reno–Sparks area of Northern Nevada. He works at NCE, the Reno-headquartered engineering, planning and environmental firm formerly known as Nichols Consulting Engineers, which has served public agencies across the Great Basin and the Sierra front since 1990.
His work sits at the point where design drawings meet ground truth. He specialises in pavement condition assessment — distress surveys, coring, ground-penetrating radar, deflection testing and soil sampling — the field data that tells an agency which of its roads need a thin overlay, which need rebuilding, and which can wait another year. Before joining NCE in 2016 he ran gravity survey operations as a field technician at Magee Geophysical.
Twelve years of that work has taken him from the Truckee Meadows road network to runways at San Francisco International and more than 500 monitored pavement sections in 26 states.
